FORT MYERS, Fla. - Southwest Florida will see a first this political season as the two leading candidates for the United States Senate will stop in Fort Myers.

Congressman Connie Mack, the Republican candidate in the hotly contested race, lined up to vote early in South Fort Myers this afternoon.

Mack, has been concentrating his campaign efforts, in Florida's major metropolitan areas and had been absent from Southwest Florida for weeks until he put in a campaign appearance on Sunday with Trey Radel, the Republican candidate seeking to replace Mack in Congress.

Mack's opponent, incumbent Democrat Bill Nelson, hasn't made a campaign appearance in Southwest Florida at all, that is until today.

Nelson will make a campaign stop late this afternoon at the Farmer's Market in Fort Myers.
