CAPE CORAL - The Cape Coral fire department is investigating a house fire in the 900 block of SE 4th Place.
It started in the garage, and left the house heavily damaged.
The family was inside at the time, but they were able to get out okay.
A police officer was sent to the hospital due to smoke inhalation.
The Red Cross will be assisting the family get back on their feet.
