Update: Mack responds to criticism that he doesn't spend enough time in SWFL
SOUTHWEST FLORIDA - It's a question many of you have been asking us: why haven't our U.S. Senate candidates spent more time in Southwest Florida?
We reached out to both Bill Nelson and Connie Mack for that answer Friday, after protesters at Mack's Cape Coral office wanted to know where he and Nelson have been.
Sunday, Mack is responding directly.
"They want to know where you've been, aside from these sorts of campaign stops. What do you want to say to Southwest Florida voters? Why haven't you been here?" Hogan asked Mack.
"I have been here," he said. "We go through this with the media here every election cycle. Where is he? I'm here. My home is in Gulf Harbor. I think you guys just enjoy saying, 'Where's Connie?"
Mack maintains his visibility in this area but acknowledges a busy campaign schedule has taken him all across the state.
"Let me ask you this. When's the next time voters can come see you in your Cape Coral, Ft. Myers office?" Hogan asked Mack.
"We're gonna be campaigning until election day," he said. "So if they have an issue, that they need help, I have a great staff that works in my office, they're welcome to come in."
