Twins and Lee County deal in the works
FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Lee County Commission and representatives from the Minnesota Twins put the finishing touches on a 30-year $45 million spring training deal.
The only step that remains is a vote by the Commission on the proposal November 6.
The Commission released a 45 page Memorandum outlining the agreement which includes an expansion of Hammond Stadium, renovated suites, renovated restrooms, more practice fields and a player dormitory. The agreement also calls for the addition of a right field party deck and a new video board.
The Twins will ante up nearly $14 million which includes increased lease payments to the county.
