Florida unemployment edges down in September
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity reports that unemployment fell one-tenth of one percent in September to 8.7 percent.
Year to year unemployment in the Sunshine State dropped 1.7 percent from 10.4 percent in September 2011.
Locally the jobless rate tumbled four-tenths of one percent in both Lee and Collier counties. Unemployment fell three-tenths of one percent in Charlotte County.
Here's a breakdown of the jobless rate across Southwest Florida.
