Lee County Sheriff's deputy fired
FORT MYERS, Fla. - A Lee County Sheriff's deputy has been kicked off the force for reportedly slacking on the job.
According to an internal affairs investigation, Sergeant Ross DiPasquale, told his subordinates they did not have to do traffic stops or any quote "self-initiated activity" because some members of the sheriff's office did not get a bonus check.
The group of mostly union members did not get bonuses in September because of a dispute between the union and the sheriff's office.
Sheriff Mike Scott placed DiPasquale on paid leave for 2 weeks while conducting the investigation and fired him Monday for insubordination.
