Pants problem lands Charlotte County man in jail
GROVE CITY, Fla. - A Charlotte County deputy patrolling in Grove City noticed a suspicious man riding a bike which resulted in a claim of mistaken pants.
The deputy stopped to talk to 30-year-old James Edwin White and because of White's behavior, the deputy asked if he could search him.
The deputy's search turned up a cellophane wrapper with nine Oxycodone pills inside.
White's response, "Oh wait, these aren't my pants!"
White told the deputy the pants belonged to his uncle and he didn’t know his uncle kept pills in his pants.
A further search of White found a cut blue straw commonly used to snort narcotics; the straw had a powdery residue inside. White was arrested and en route to the jail he kept telling the deputy that the pants were his uncles and he had just thrown them on.
White posted a $3,500 bond and was released.
