Slice of Hope: Aldos in Naples raises money for breast cancer
NAPLES, Fla. - Bicyclists are peddling for breast cancer awareness. About a dozen bicyclists are buzzing through Southwest Florida.
The group rode from Fort Myers to Naples earlier on Friday. Bicyclists pedaled nearly 40 miles for the cause. Some of them are from Kentucky and Portland. It's part of the national "Slice of Hope" event taking place on Friday, October 12. Restaurants nationwide including Aldos Restaurant in Naples is donating part of its proceeds from Friday to the Karen Muller Breast Cancer Foundation. The restaurant has raised nearly $11,000 so far.
"We stopped at various pizzerias in Fort Myers like LaMotta Italian Restaurant. Aldos is a major stop. They are throwing us a fundraiser party and hopefully we raise alot of money for the Karen Muller Breast Cancer Foundation," said Jeremy White, bicyclist.
The event starts from 4pm to 10pm on Friday at the King Lakes Plaza (4820 Davis Blvd.) in Naples. Admission is free. You can purchase raffle tickets. There will be a drawing, vendors, live entertainment and a bounce house for the kids.
