Oxy sting lands Punta Gorda man in jail
PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - Charlotte County Detectives pulled a reverse narcotics sting in Port Charlotte arresting a Punta Gorda man who asked to buy Oxycodone pills.
59-year-old Daniel Alan Jones contacted an undercover detective and asked to buy Oxycodone.
Jones arranged to meet the detective in a parking lot on Kings Highway near U.S. 41. The detective sold Jones fake Oxycodone and once the transaction occurred other members of the Narcotics Unit moved in and made the arrest.
Jones was transported to the Charlotte County Jail where he is being held on a $5,000 bond.
