Port Charlotte woman arrested for theft, meth
PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Charlotte County deputies arrested a 41-year-old Port Charlotte woman for stealing $467 in items from Kohl's Department Store.
Deputies also discovered methamphetamine in Paula Ann Chierico's purse.
Kohl's security called deputies Wednesday afternoon after they spotted Chierico fraudulently returning bed sheets to the store. She also pushed a cart to checkout and paid for several items in her shopping cart, but did not attempt to pay for all of the items. She exited the store without paying for three pairs of Nike shoes, a J-Lo sweater and dress, and Angel jeans.
Security detained her until deputies arrived. A search was made of Chierico’s purse and deputies found Methamphetamine. She was transported to the Charlotte County Jail and charged with Grand Theft, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She posted a $6,000 and was released.
