FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. - Fort Myers Beach is warning its residents of a boil water notice that is scheduled to begin tonight at 9 p.m.

Fort Myers Beach Public Works will replace a valves at various locations forcing water to be turned off until 5 a.m.

The residents and businesses affected will be from and including 5901 Estero Blvd south to Island Pines Way on the bay side of Estero Boulevard ONLY. The side streets affected are Mound Rd, Noddy Tern, Widgeon Ter., Flamingo St.(bay side only), Driftwood Lane., Bahia Via, Curlew St., Egret St., Ibis St., Albatross, Fairview Blvd., Clearview Blvd., Sunview Blvd., Palmview Blvd., Bayview Blvd., and Island Pines Way.

Once the water is restored to this area there will be a Precautionary Boil Water Notice issued for a minimum of 48 hours and will remain in effect until bacteriological results prove the water is safe to drink.               

We advise that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes be boiled. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient.  As an alternative bottled water may be used. 

This “Precautionary Boil Water Notice” will remain in effect until the problem has been corrected and the bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink.
