Under a new bill signed by California Governor Jerry Brown, young undocumented immigrants who are eligible for work permits can now get California driver's licenses.

It's a rider to the Dream Act President Obama signed into law earlier this year. It allows immigrants under 30 to live in the U.S. permanently if they are in good standing with the law and have graduated from school or joined the military.

But the idea of offering people whose immigration status is in limbo, legal driving privileges, is drawing mixed opinions from many of you.

Susan from Ft. Myers calling in:  "Do I think illegals should get drivers licenses? Hell no!"

Ed from Cape Coral calling in:  "All we're doing is allowing people who have not done the right thing to continue to be rewarded for doing that."

Jim from Naples calling in: "Illegals are illegals and there shouldn't be any benefit."

Nearly 400,000 Californians could qualify for the new driver's license program. Right now, there is no similar kind of legislation being discussed in Florida.
