Historic home on the move: Periwinkle Re-opens
SANIBEL ISLAND - One of the first Sears and Roebuck kit houses built on the island is moving four miles down the road.
Power to several areas on the island have to be cut, anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours, to allow for the home's move.
This morning it's headed to the Sanibel Historic Museum and Village.
The purpose of the restoration and move is to remember the history of this island that now has well over 6,000 residents.
They expect to be finished moving the home to its final location by 9 a.m.
