Storms, rainy weather on tap for southwest Florida

It felt much more like summertime Monday afternoon, due to more humidity and that moisture will help set the table for some rainy weather in Southwest Florida. A storm system that brought flash floods to parts of Texas Saturday and the Deep South Sunday will start to affect Southwest Florida Monday night.

The storm system will bring a risk of isolated severe weather from Tennessee and northern Alabama to Georgia and the Florida Panhandle Monday evening, but Southwest Florida's main concern will be rain through Wednesday, and it may be heavy at times.

The trailing cold front will unfortunately wash out to our north, and we will miss out on the cooler air on the northern side of the front, and it looks like it may be awhile before we get a chance at the first big cool down of the year.
