Who should go at Medstar? Viewers sound off
A major shake up in the county's public safety division because of the Medstar scandal and that has many of you sounding off.
Four In Your Corner's Colleen Hogan has the latest and your reaction.
Two top officials, no longer on the job at Medstar. Public Safety Director John Wilson is retiring, immediately. He worked for the county for 27 years.
His second in command, Kim Dickerson, has been placed on paid leave while the county investigates what went wrong.
The Medstar helicopter program was recently grounded after finding the county improperly billed clients hundreds of thousands of dollars.
"It was not handled well from day one, it should have never been shut down," Lee County Commissioner Frank Mann said. "It should have been corrected before we got to that point. This is indeed a life and death service; it makes the difference between life and death and Lee County should not have flopped on this one and we did."
Many of you, calling and texting in on our Viewer's Voice line agree.
Keith writing in: "Ms. Dickerson's trail of destruction has come to an end and about time too."
And John from Lehigh calling in: "I think the county manager should resign, she's the top of the cover up. she knew all about this, never told the county commissioners."
Assistant County manager Holly Schwartz will serve as acting public safety director. Colleen Hogan Fox 4 In Your Corner.
