NORTH PORT, Fla. - A 13 year old boy is in the hospital tonight after being hit by a car while trying to get to his bus stop in North Port.
Police say 13 year old Brandon Robinette was crossing Chamberlain Boulevard near Cartwright Lane.
According to witnesses, the car tried to swerve out of the way but ended up hitting the boy, injuring his leg and ankle.
Tonight the teen is in serious but stable condition at children's hospital.
