Cape Coral police investigate fatal canal crash
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - UPDATE: Cape Coral Police are identifying the victim as 24-year-old Cape Coral resident Alexie Krill.
Police say based on their investigation, Krill ran a stop sign at the intersection of Beach Parkway West and Surfside Boulevard, drove off the edge of the road and into the canal. Krill was unable to get out of her car and drowned.
The case is being investigated by Traffic Homicide.

Cape Coral police are on the scene of a fatality accident that saw a vehicle land in a canal at Beach Parkway West and Surfside Boulevard.
Police are calling it a traffic homicide investigation. Divers and crime scene technicians are on the scene.
Police say traffic in the area is flowing smoothly.
Cape Coral police say it will be several hours before they can release any cause of the crash, the number of people involved and any cause of death.
