Serious crash in Estero sends two FGCU students to hospital
ESTERO, Fla. - A Ford F150 pick up slammed into a power pole at Corkscrew Road and U.S. 41 injuring two and plunging the area into darkness.
The crash happened just before 1 a.m. Friday.
The drive, 19-year-old Connor Ceilley, suffered serious injuries. His passenger, 19-year-old Brent Raczkowski was injured critically. Both are from Fort Myers
It took rescuers about 20 minutes to get Raczkowski out of the truck.
The Florida Highway Patrol is trying to determine why Ceilley served the truck from the north side of Corkscrew Road as he drove west toward U.S. 41 into the shoulder on the south side.
The FHP believes alcohol may have been involved.
Power was out for a few hours.
