Paul Ryan plans campaign stops in Florida
MIAMI (AP) - Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan will be campaigning in Florida over the weekend.
Ryan will attend a rally Saturday morning at the Versailles restaurant in Miami's Little Havana neighborhood. Later that day, Ryan will attend a town hall at the University of Central Florida in Orlando.
Florida is a presidential battleground where a charged immigration debate is under way as President Barack Obama seeks to keep Republican challenger Mitt Romney on the defensive. Both candidates were crisscrossing Florida on Thursday.
Obama was set to take questions Thursday from a Spanish-speaking audience at a Univision-sponsored forum at the University of Miami.
Romney participated in the same forum on Wednesday. On Thursday, he was set to attend fundraisers and a rally in Sarasota.
