NAPLES- 1 in 3 children are overweight, but now some Collier County schools are fighting the disturbing trend. Fox 4 is telling you something good.

Mike Davis Elementary in Naples launched their teaching garden on Tuesday.
The American Heart Association provides materials for the teaching garden like garden beds, soil and seedlings.

The students plant their own vegetables and will eventually use the produce from the garden in the lunch room. At the same time, students learn how vegetables grow.

Physicians Regional Healthcare sponsors the garden at Mike Davis elementary school.
Village Oaks Elementary also planted its own garden too.
