Punta Gorda man charged with having oral sex with young boys
PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - Charlotte County detectives arrested a 32-year-old Punta Gorda man for sexual battery involving four young boys. The alleged assaults occurred between July 4, 2000 and July 4, 2001.
Charged is Darrin Duane Hysell of Punta Gorda.
Last November CCSO received a call from one of the victims who came forward and claimed he and three other boys were enticed by Hysell to perform oral sex on him that started as a game in a wooded area near one of the boy’s homes.
The boys ranged in ages from 9 to 11 when the incidents occurred. Detectives interviewed the other three boys who are now adults, one locally, one elsewhere in Florida, and another out of state.
Detectives, after completing their lengthy investigation, developed probable cause to arrest Hysell for Sexual Battery on Victims Under-12. He was located at his home and transported to the Charlotte County Jail where he remains on no bond.
Detectives said additional charges are forthcoming, pending further investigation.
