The next Bush? George P. ponders political career
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - George P. Bush hasn't followed his father, uncle and grandfather into politics just yet, but the day might be coming soon.
Bush said Monday that he'll consider running for statewide office in Texas after this year's election. For now, though, he's supporting candidates through a political action committee he formed to engage young adults in Republican politics and to support select GOP candidates for federal offices. He's also helping Mitt Romney's presidential campaign.
Bush is the son of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, grandson of President George H. W. Bush and nephew of President George W. Bush. He's now on a four-day Florida bus tour that mostly targets college campuses.
Jeb Bush said if his son does decide to run for office, he'll be his strongest supporter.
