Housing sales picking up in Southwest Florida
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Realtors in both Collier and Lee counties are continuing to see the slow rebound in the housing market.
The Naples area real estate median closed price increased 10 percent for the 12-month period ending August 2012, according to a report released by the Naples Area Board of REALTORS, which tracks home listings and sales within Collier County (excluding Marco Island).
The Realtor Association of Greater Fort Myers reported traditional home sales (those not in foreclosure or in short sale) increased 30.93 percent in a 12 month-period ending in August 2012.
"The market indicators are up in Southwest Florida, said Marion Briggs, Association President. "For the past six months the median price has remained above $125,000, due largely in part to the fact traditional properties have been the majority of our single home sales, which is very good news."
