Settlement reduces early voting days in Collier County
NAPLES, Fla. -- Several counties including one in southwest Florida will have fewer days for early voting.
The Obama administration is agreeing to a proposal that will reduce the number of early voting days in five Florida counties, including Collier, from 10 to eight days.
The decision ends a lengthy battle over a controversial election law passed by the Florida legislature last year.
Some said reducing the days would also reduce the number of minorities who voted, because many take advantage of early voting.
