Plea deal sends Lehigh Acres man to prison for life

FORT MYERS, Fla. - A Lehigh Acres man agreed to a plea deal that means he will spend the rest of his life in prison for killing a seven-week-old daughter and cutting his daughter's throat.
45-year-old Manuel Rosales received two consecutive life sentences for first degree murder and attempted first degree murder.
Rosales slit the throat of his grandson Josue Rosales and tried to kill his daughter Karminda by doing the same thing. The attack occured May 20, 2010.
Karminda Rosales was not in court his morning for her father's sentencing. Instead she presented the judge a letter.
Rosales said she never wanted to see her father again and according to the State Attorney's office, that's why she did not want this case going to trial, where her father faced the possibility of a death sentence.
