Two arrested in a string of Lee County robberies
LEHIGH ACRES- Two people have been arrested in connection to a string of robberies across Lee County thanks to a Crime Stoppers Tip.
Juli-Ann Caprio and Michael Cooper, both of Lehigh Acres, have been arrested for three robberies over a two day span, two of which were only 30 minutes apart.
The first robbey happened at a Subway on Lee Bouelvard in Lehigh Acres. A half hour later the couple went to the CVS on Jetport Commerce Loop in Fort Myers. Caprio approached a clerk at the pharmacy and told her she didn't want to commit the robbery, but there were men outside with guns who wanted drugs. The clerk gave her a bottle of pills and she fled the scene.
The third, and final robbery, happened on Monday at the 7-11 on Joel Boulevard in Lehigh Acres. Cooper told the clerk he was sorry, but owed someone money. The clerk thought he was joking, but then Cooper showed him the gun under his shirt.
There were no injuries.
Robbery Detectives were contacted by Crime Stoppers with a tip that identified the couple who were living in Lehigh Acres together. The tipster was able to positively I.D. the two in a photo line-up.
Caprio was charged with two counts of robbery without a weapon. Cooper was charged with one count robbery with a firearm.
