2 arrested in McDonald's charity robbery in Lehigh Acres
LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. - Lee County deputies arrested two people for snatching a Ronald McDonald charity box early this morning from a Lehigh Acres's McDonald's restaurant.
Just before 3 a.m. an unknown person flagged down a Lee County deputy telling him that a gold vehicle had left the parking lot at a high rate of speed. The deputy spotted the vehicle where it lost control and spun into a ditch north of Business Way and Beth Stacy Boulevard.
20-year-old Kayla Cortez was taken into custody along with her passenger, 24-year-old Blake Albritton. Two other passengers in the back seat where questioned but not charged.
Cortez and Albritton face charges of grand theft and possessing a controlled substance without a prescription.
