Tropical Storm Nadine is gradually moving away from the Azores, located about 200 miles away from the islands. Nadine is moving to the southeast at 8 mph with maximum sustained winds of 65 mph.

The low pressure system located 475 miles east of Bermuda has changed little in organization during the past several hours, but conditions do appear favorable for gradual development before upper level winds become less conducive on Saturday. This system has a 60% chance of becoming a subtropical cyclone during the next 48 hours. Even with a westerly movement, our upper level winds over the United States will keep this system over the open waters of the Atlantic, in fact, through the rest of the month we can count on the westerly winds to protect the US from any tropical systems.
