Son charged in Cape Coral man's murder

CAPE CORAL, Fla. - The State Attorney's Office formally charged a 54-year-old man from New York with the murder of his 91-year-old father last month at the victim's Cape Coral home.

Leroy James Taylor, Jr. of Waverly, New York is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Leroy James Taylor, Sr. of Cape Coral.  Investigators believe Taylor Sr. was beaten to death between July 14 and 18.

The victim's body was discovered on July 18th by a business partner. 

Taylor, Jr. remains in jail held without bond.
