School District continues to monitor Isaac
Lee County Public Schools continues to monitor the progress of Tropical Storm Isaac. District staff is working closely with Lee County Emergency Operations officials and will continue to do so over the weekend as the storm approaches.
As of 5 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2012 the District has not made a decision on the closing of schools or offices due to Tropical Storm Isaac. As the storm gets closer to our area, it may have a direct effect on the District’s operations.
Any decision to close schools and District offices will be made and communicated with the community by the afternoon of Sunday, August 26th.
The safety of students, faculty and staff is the main priority of the District, and any decision concerning closing schools and offices will be made with that focus. The decision will be done in close consultation with EOC officials while taking into account several factors (i.e. speed of the storm, the storm’s path and projected effects on our area.)
The District will continue to provide updates to the media as needed.
