Body found in Bokeelia that of missing Cape Coral teacher

BOKEELIA, Fla. - The Lee County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the body found Wednesday on Bokeelia is that of 41-year-old Amy Patterson.  Investigators made the identification through dental records.  The Medical Examiner has yet to determine a cause of death.

Patterson disappeared in July 2011.  Since that time her ex-husband, 45-year-old Daniel Proctor, has been the main suspect in her disappearance.

Proctor gave Lee County Sheriff's detectives information about the location of the body following his conviction for various crimes in Alabama for which he received a life sentence.  Proctor remains in custody in Alabama.
