Lee Memorial employee arrested for selling hospital equipment on eBay
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Lee County detectives arrested a Lee Memorial Health Systems employee for stealing hospital equipment and selling it on eBay.
A medical supply business in Fort Myers tipped off the Lee Memorial to a recent purchase made on EBay. When the buyer ran the serial numbers the equipment came back as property of Lee Memorial Health System.s
Detectives arrested 35-year-old Eliott Lopez charging him with Grand Theft and Dealing in Stolen Property.
It is believed that Lopez may have sold as much as $88,000 of equipment stolen Lee Memorial Health Systems on eBay.
Lopez has worked for Lee Memorial since 2003.
