Collier County jailer, wife arrested
FORT MYERS, Fla. - A joint investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Collier County Sheriff's Office has led to the arrest of a southwest Florida couple on multiple prescription drug offenses.
29-year-old Jason David Slapp works as a correctional Corporal for the Collier County Sheriff's Office. He faces four counts related to obtaining a controlled substance by fraud.
Also facing charges is his wife, 44-year-old Caroline Keogh of Fort Myers. She faces 23 counts.
The investigation started in January 2012 when FDLE and CCSO received information the suspects were fraudulently obtaining numerous controlled substances at pharmacies in Lee and Collier counties.
The drugs involved include Xanax, Vicodin and Ambien.
Keogh was booked into the Lee County Jail. Slapp was booked into the Collier County Jail.
