Punta Gorda police check suspicious package
PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - Punta Gorda police received a call this morning about a suspicious package in the parking lot at Aqui Esta Drive and Bal Harbor Boulevard.
Units of the Lee County Sheriff's Office are assisting Punta Gorda police in assessing the situation.
A call to the police department said a package in the parking lot is a bomb. But officers on the scene don't believe the package poses any threat but are taking precautions to make sure it is safe.
