Fort Myers police investigate Sunday night shooting
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Fort Myers police are investigating a Sunday night shooting that left a man with a minor gunshot wound. The shooting happened at Edison Avenue and Central Avenue after a call of shots fired at the Twin Oaks Apartments.
Officers found a gunshot victim on foot at Franklin Street and Dixie Parkway. The victim was identified as 26-year-old Prudencio Felipa Slowe.
Another officer on the way to investigate the shooting report came upon a two-vehicle crash at Jackson Street and Layette Street. Investigators are trying to determine if the shooting victim had been in one of the vehicles involved in the accident.
The shooting victim has been giving the police various accounts of what happened. So far no arrests have been made.
