FORT MYERS, Fla. - Gunfire from Friday's incident marks the third deputy involved shooting in the past three months.
Back in May a high speed chase that began in North Fort Myers and ended in Buckingham resulted in a shootout. A deputy was injured and the driver of the car involved was killed. One other man was arrested on scene.
Then in June a deputy was injured when a traffic stop along I-75 ended with gunfire after the deputy found Cocaine in the car. The driver who was pulled over was fatally wounded.
