Body found in swamps of Eastern Collier County
COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. - Hunters came upon a body while out on a swamp in Eastern Collier County last night.
They called Collier County Sheriff's deputies who sent up a helicopter to search an near Beck Boulevard and Benefield Road just one mile south of I-75. From the air they spotted an abandoned truck.
Law enforcement then sent a swamp buggy out into the waters where they located the body of a man that had appeared to be at that location for some time. The Sheriff's Office is calling it a Death Investigation.
Because of the late hour deputies left the scene and returned this morning to look for more clues. So far there is nothing to indicate that foul play was involved. They have not identified the man yet.
