Lee County Schools check cashing scheme grows
FORT MYERS - The number of arrests in the Lee County School District check fraud case now stands at 12.
Two more people are facing charges in connection with the case.
Investigators say the group tried to cash phony checks that looked like they came from the school district.
The first arrest came earlier this month after one of the suspects tried to cash a fake school district check at a North Fort Myers Walmart.
