Lee County schools releases first round school choice numbers

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Lee County schools says it's done with the first round of its school choice selection process.

The district say this year, more than 16,000 students are participating in the student assignment lottery.

More than 78 percent of families got their first choice school for the next school year. 95 percent got one of their top three choices.

Any student who did not receive their first choice is automatically placed in the eligibility pool for their first choice school. Second open-enrollment runs through May 24th.
