Four in your corner continues to investigate veteran families' concerns that a VA hospital in Tampa isn't up living up to the standards we expect for our heroes. Now, some federal lawmakers are taking notice.
When the family of Cape Coral soldier Corey Kent felt the hospital was dropping the ball. Then, the family of a paralyzed marine came to FOX 4 yesterday with similar concerns.
Nick Battles was injured on the last day of his Marine Corps training. He broke his neck and was instantly paralyzed.
He's been at the Tampa VA since December. His family says he's constantly battling preventable infections and bedsores.
So I took his concerns to everyone I could, including the Tampa V-A, who says they'll look into the matter, as well as congressman Connie Mack's office and senator Bill Nelson's office.
Both lawmakers’ offices are reaching out to the family to put them in contact with the right People to hopefully get this situation resolved and the marine on the road to recovery.
