State senator outraged over Walker's salary
FORT MYERS - A state senator expressed outrage Thursday over embattled Edison State College president Ken Walker's salary.
"Sounds like a perfect opportunity to have a grand jury investigation," said State Sen. Steve Oelrich of Cross Creek.
A senate panel on higher education looked at audits from a number of colleges across the state. Walker's $837,000 salary drew Oelrich's attention.
Walker remains on paid leave while the college tries to fire him with cause.
