Edison board to meet Friday on president search
FORT MYERS - The next phase in finding a new permanent president for Edison State College starts this week.
The college's board of trustees is meeting this Friday to discuss what firm to use in the search.
The college must replace former president Dr. Kenneth Walker, who was removed from office in late November, following an uproar from faculty and staff.
Former trustee Dr. David Klein says the new board needs to look for someone who is "straight up honest."
“The reputation has to be just completely straight up honest," said Klein. "They're gonna have to have experience in education, administrative matters. I'd like to see someone who'd fixed up a similar situation somewhere else so they know what they're getting into.”
Walker remains on paid administrative leave.
