A two-vehicle crash left a Lehigh Acres woman dead on Friday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

It happened at approximately 5:02 p.m. at the intersection of international Center Blvd on Friday.

22-year-old Merline Bernard was approaching the intersection when she crossed over onto the grassy median and struck another driver, FHP said.

The driver that was hit by Bernard's vehicle was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital with no reported injuries.

Troopers say alcohol was not a factor in this crash.

No additional information had been released.
