UPDATE -- A student left a message in a bathroom stall on Monday at Riverdale High that said "I'm going to blow up this school. Actually no, I'm gonna bring a knife and gun in two days. You can't stop me, please be prepared. I will make sure to shoot people, so don't come."

Police responded to the school at about 4:00 pm. The school's assistant principal says no teacher reported it throughout the day. Another teacher said she did not see the writing that morning around 8:35 am.

Police determined that the threat is unfounded.

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The Lee County School District and the sheriff's office are investigating a non-credible threat at Riverdale High School.

Monday, the principal notified parents after someone found a threatening message written in a bathroom.

The school won't elaborate on what the threat was about, but officials say they never believed anyone was really in danger. They simply notified deputies as a precaution.

They're now looking over surveillance footage to determine who might have made the threat.
