COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- The Naples Zoo is now open for the first time since Hurricane Irma. The Zoo hosted a crowd of nearly 4,000 people on Saturday, the official reopening date.

The storm did serious damage to trees and animal enclosures, some of which still need repairs.  But most animals are back in their homes after spending nearly a month in temporary protective shelters.

Collier County residents got to enjoy the zoo for free. It cost $5.00 for all other Florida citizens.

"It feels great seeing all the animals and the $5 entry, that's great. Hurricane Irma had us all cooped up for days without electricity, so this is great."

The Naples Zoo will be hosting Boo at the Zoo on October 20th through the 22nd. That event is free for children in costume.
