UPDATE -- Multiple neighbors say they weren't surprised to hear that Elgron Taylor, kidnaped and sexually battered a minor at his Fort Myers home, Friday.

According to the Lee County Sheriff's report, Taylor held a minor against her will where he sexually battered her. Neighbors say they watched the young girl escape from his home with one man outside washing his car coming close to helping her, before Taylor drove by and kidnaped her again.

The report says the girl was found, hands bound, in a wooded area. The situation left one neighbor, Bill Austin, who lives across the street from Taylor, to question a man he thought was good.

“Most of the time he’s working or with the kids," said Austin. “I never saw this sort of behavior in him.”

But other neighbors, who didn't want to go on camera, tell Fox 4 that Taylor had a history of trouble in the community. He has been arrested 16 other times in Lee County.

Taylor remains in Lee County custody and the victim is being medically treated for her injuries.

Despite the incident, Austin says he believes the neighborhood is still a safe place.

“I’ve lived here 31 years and this is the only incident of any significance that has occurred in all this time. and we all kind of look after each other.”

A juvenile woman was discovered in an abandoned car with her hands bound, after a Fort Myers man kidnaped and sexually battered her, the Lee County Sheriff's Office said.

On Friday, deputies responded to a residence in Lehigh Acres after complaints of a kidnapping and Sexual Battery.

It was reported that a juvenile female was held against her will, observed running from the residence where the battery took place and called out for assistance, LCSO said.

While a neighbor was attempting to assist the victim, the suspect, 51-year-old Elgron Taylor, came to the residence, grabbed the juvenile, placed her in his vehicle and took off.

The car was located in a wooded area of Lehigh, where the juvenile was found inside with her hands bound.

Elgron attempted to flee the scene in his car, but was apprehended by deputies.

The victim told deputies that Elgron sexually battered her multiple times before she was able to escape.

Based on the victim’s disclosures and evidence collected during the investigation, Taylor was placed under arrest and charged with Sexual Battery and Kidnapping.

LCSO's arrest page also shows that Elgron has been in-and-out of jail since 1987 for various charges.
