LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- The Lee County chapter of the NAACP has just released a resolution asking for the portrait of Robert E. Lee in the County Commission's to be altered.

They're asking that it be replaced with a portrait of Lee in civilian clothing. The current portrait shows the general in his Confederate uniform. They agreed not to stage any further protest if they make that change.

The County Commission will discuss the resolution at their next meeting.

The state chapter is calling on Governor Rick Scott to ban all confederate symbols. But Governor Scott says he plans to wait for a bill regarding the issue.
