Woman killed in domestic situation early Tuesday morning in Fort Myers

**UPDATE 1:30PM** -- Police have identified the victim as 39-year-old Chantill Harrison.

50-year-old Freddie Harris has been arrested and charged with second degree murder, two counts of assault on an officer and one count of aggravated child abuse.

This case remains an active investigation.

**UPDATE 8AM** -- Fort Myers Police tell Fox 4 that a homicide investigation in Fort Myers early Tuesday did arise from a domestic violence situation.

The victim and the suspect did have a child together, police say.

Police responded to Towles Street off MLK Boulevard around 3am Tuesday after a call about a violent situation.  They arrived to find an armed male suspect pointing a rifle at officers.

Officers fired shots at the suspect, who was not hit. He then ran behind the house before surrendering about 30 minutes later and being taken into custody.

A female victim was found deceased inside the home.

The male suspect will be charged with homicide in the case.

**UPDATE 5:30 a.m.** -- Fort Myers Police are investigating a homicide where a woman was found dead in a home off MLK Jr. Blvd. 

They say they had a standoff with the suspect Tuesday morning around 3 a.m. That suspect is now in custody.

We don't know whether it's a domestic crime yet, but do know the two knew each other.

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Early Tuesday morning more than a dozen law enforcement members set up a perimeter near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Barden and Towles Streets.

Fort Myers Police Department and Lee County Sheriff's Office has the area closed off at Towles Street. 

Barden Street is also closed off from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
