FORT MYERS, Fla-- A historic football rivalry in Southwest Florida will play out on the field Friday night in a way the two teams have never matched up before.

Kickoff between North Fort Myers and Fort Myers High School takes place at 7:30 p.m. at Moody Field at North Fort Myers High.

However, staff and students from both schools are already preparing for the big matchup. Friday morning North Fort Myers will hold a pep rally to celebrate the team and Friday night's semifinal game.

Head coach and school alum, Earnest Graham, who played several seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has led the Red Knights to an undefeated 9-0 record. The team entered the playoffs as the number 1 seed and hasn't slowed down. Their opponent and rival, the Fort Myers Green Wave had a 6-3 record for the season and entered the playoffs as the number 4 seed.

Although the teams have played each other for decades, this is the first time they'll face off in the playoffs thanks to a new format.

While a lot of tonight's attention will be on the field, there's also been a lot of talk about who will show up tonight without pads on. North Fort Myers has several players that have made their mark in the NFL including hall of famer Deion Sanders, Javon Kearse, Cadillac WIlliam and Noel Devine. There's been talk around town that these guys may show up for the game.

Tickets for the game can be purchased HERE.
