LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Troopers are still investigating Wednesday's fatal crash in San Carlos Park that took the life of a South Florida motorcyclist.
The crash happened on U.S. 41 just before 1pm Wednesday.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a LeeTran bus was southbound on U.S. 41 when the driver, 59-year-old George Phillips, Jr., attempted to turn left into a shopping center near Constitution Boulevard.
Phillips apparently did not see the motorcycle headed northbound and pulled out in front of it.
The motorcycle slammed into the right rear side of the bus, killing 29-year-old Joseph Santos of Miramar, Florida.
No charges have been filed at this time, but the crash remains under investigation.
